Re: Comino's Chronicle

Hey! I am in Cristobal, Panama, tomorrow admeasurement day for the canal, then transit sometime around 20 May. If anyone is around and wish to help as linehandler, I'd appreciate it.

Re: Comino's Chronicle

Panama Canal transit is done. Here I come Pacific Ocean! Don't watch my videos, there are no naked girls and million dollar catamaran, it is just pure and boring sailing.

Thank you Copacabana for your comment, I started to worry this thread is invisible but to me. I won't turn back now for a beer, maybe next time around when I am aiming for the Horn?

In Puerto Amistad, Ecuador now, after a hard beating of 600 miles from Panama. Ecuador, it is a funny place.

It's funny strange, I suppose it is just really out of the normal tourist destinations, and I still can't get my head around how these South American countries/nations developed their borders and identities. And the prime minister is called Lenin, it rings a badly tuned bell. I am from Europe.

Thank you. Crossed half of the Pacific and on the island of Hiva Oa now. 42 days and 3600 Nm from Ecuador. I probably stay in French Polynesia for the cyclone season. The blog will catch up soon.

Bravo!

Here are a few tips I hope will help you, all offered in a friendly tone of voice.

1. To stimulate interest in CF readers (or to get more to view your videos) here, I suggest posting some descriptions of your voyage. For example describe your time in the doldrums or crossing the current etc. if you have a blog, don't just post a link to it, instead post an excerpt from it with some photos and text, with a link to view more. A link alone is not the most effective way to attract people to leave this site to visit another.

2. Embed a YouTube video viewer in your posts on CF. How? If you can copy the YouTube link to your video, using a web browser, from the browser address bar, (not using the YouTube mobile app button) then paste that link into your post here. I use an iPad, surf to CF using Safari, so I copy the link from my browser. I do not use the CF App, because I do not like its limitations. That should embed a YouTube video viewer on your post here. The viewer allows CF Members to view the video without leaving CF. That will increase the number of viewers here, and help get more subscribers, if they like what they see here first.

Fair Winds and Bon Voyage!

Re: Comino's Chronicle

Attila, very enjoyable writing..

I read your blog in a couple of days and I m looking forward to reading more.. But I must agree with the others: you should better promote your adventure.. and a small adv: when possible, put the photos within the text rather then in a different post

Re: Comino's Chronicle

Thanks for all the comments. You have to take into consideration I live on a 22 feet boat. No Internet, immarsat phone, WiFi booster or even working station or saloon with table. Also, I am doing the sailing, cooking, maintenance, writing, editing etc. Plus, I did an income-intake analysis, and as there is virtually no income, I am limiting the intake.
