Changes in Latitude ...
Feelin' a little depressed right now, and I think Jimmy's got it about right ...
Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes By: Jimmy Buffett 1977 < ... I wish I could jump on a plane So many nights I just dream of the ocean God I wish I was sailin’ again Oh, yesterday’s over my shoulder So I can’t look back for too long There’s just too much to see waiting in front of me And I know that I just can’t go wrong ... > So here I sit, Laughin' - so I don't go insane.

Hey Gord,
You being a cruiser and all, I don't have to tell you that sailors are one big family. You'll always be welcome aboard the boat I have now, or the one I hope to have in the near future. A Canadian friend of mine met me in Annapolis one time to sail the Cheasapeake with me. Maybe another shall in the future? Fair winds my friend ![]() |

I sat down to a fresh part print this morning & pretty much instantly had the necessay tool worked out in my head, went through a line item quote for no other reason than to be sure I wasn't missing anything & fired it off.
It rebounded back just about as quick & I'm starting in on what will be 30 hrs or so of detailing ... no mysteries. Time to get that yacht design school thing going. Troubledour Last edited by Troubledour; 01-11-2003 at 16:18. |

Comming South
CSY Man.
I'm heading South this Sunday from Dunedin. Should be in your neck of the woods in a week or two. Where are you hanging out? I may want to crew for you every now and then. s/v Cool Channge II 44' Beneteau |

Okay Dudes:
I live smack in the middle of Ft. Lauderdale, up the New River, on a canal. I go sailing frequently and many times could use a crew member or two. Would prefer single women in their 20s with a bi-sexual orientation and a hot girl-friend, both of them good cooks and turned on by boat-maintenace and cooking gourmet meals. Or may settle for less...... Plans for November are pretty open and wife wants me out of the house as her mother and sister are coming-a-visiting. I would like to round up a few good men for a short Abaco or Excuma trip if the weather is okay and if it can be done in comfort and in style, but not looking for strangers per se.. Except Mr. GordMay, he sounds like a decent dude and he could use a breake, as well as being useful aboard the ship with his knowledge and my tools...:-) Cool Change: Aye, ya got yer own boat? No need to crew for me. Instead we can meet at some anchorage and share a beer and a few stories. ![]() |

Stede & CSYMan:
Jail? Been there, didn't like it much. Wrote that as a joke, but just realized that I did do a night (FLL), back in '65 (Easter break - sleepin' on the beach), and it wasn't so bad (good breakfast) ![]() CSYMan: << Would prefer single women in their 20s with a bi-sexual orientation and a hot girl-friend, both of them good cooks and turned on by boat-maintenance and cooking gourmet meals.>> Right - and then you woke up!!! ![]() Stede, Troubledour, CSY, et al: You guys should have percieved by now, that I’m not really a suitable cruisin’ buddy. I’m a grumpy, opinionated know-it-all, with a nasty disposition, and my avatar is ridiculously flattering. I'd likely break your boat, and steal your toolz. You may have noticed, the laughin' isn't really working ... but your kind thoughts help. Thanks for the 'lift' (getting too many 'headers' lately). (frozen) Gord

You mention laudable character traits, then do a complete flip to stealing tools & breaking boats. How can this be ? I think there may be a 12 step program for the boat breaking, but tool stealing may eventually involve tough love tactics like keel hauling, concrete deck shoes, etc.
Can we help ? Troubledour |

Only good thing about Thunder Bay is that it's too dam COLD to take a rifle on the roof.

You wonderful guys!
My favorite aviators' forum seems to have folded, so I made a forced landing in your anchorage. Assessing the premises by reading old threads. Learning a lot about sailboats, and thoroughly enjoying the wise and philosophical disposition of cruisers. This here thread made me feel even more at home. If it weren't for aviation, I'd have gone to sea. GORD, YOU SAID: "I’m a grumpy, opinionated know-it-all, with a nasty disposition, and my avatar is ridiculously flattering." May I pleeease use this quote in the WIG thread? Would be quite entertaining to watch you and CSY compete on who's the grumpiest and most opinionated. Looks like it could be a close call. Too bad you don't read Norwegian, as some of the exchanges at our aviators' forum were hilarious and quite hot-tempered. Unable to contribute on the sailing bit, I stick to non-shop-talk and hope it will not be in anybody's way. Sailing and water flying seems to have some aspects in common, like dependancy on weather, winds and waves. When the going gets rough, skill and good maintenance of vessel will decide the outcome. Regards from a wannabe |
