Annual Sailing Plan

Pardon me if this posting is in the wrong place. The wife and I are getting very serious now and have pretty much decided on the boat we want...36-42 mono. We have family in two places...New England (Boston, Plum Island, Nashua N.H.) and in Dallas, TX.

We are trying to get our heads around an annual plan. We would probably want to spend 2-3 months per year visiting between New England and Texas. We aren't rich but will have the resources to park and ride (fly) when we need to get somewhere far and fast.

We do not like strict schedules but a generalized idea of what might be compatible with the sailing season. Considering it might very well include sailing the east coast, gulf coast and caribbean.

What to do with the boat? Hard storage or slip? Where? Any ideas for a rough plan would be helpful.
