He says you can get on the day driver side, typical day would be hook and drop, no touch loads , container's from the west side, hauling to the east side and maybe like hay back. If running your own truck, you can haul as few as 3 days a week or 7, up to you. He say it pays very well. Just want to drop that to you if your interested.
I may have to look into that, we will see.

I bet you can damn near smell the salt air!!!!
I have found that when I'm moving in the right direction, things seem to just happen and the flow is good.
Good luck on the sale of the truck. Awesome stuff when the stars align!

OK, you want the west coast, but I like the East. I have been living aboard for 5 years. Summer in South Carolina, winter in Florida & points south. Doing it on <$2K per month. I have medicare and Vets (for my part "B" or whatever to keep Obama off my butt). I want to sell my boat. A 34' sloop right in your price range. Brand new motor (less than 200 hrs, Universal 25). I want to go to a power boat (OK, you can stop the BOOOOOs now.)

I appreciate the offer but I am looking to be in the 36' - 40' range.

Going to be spending a lot of time with my best friend on board, he is 6'3" I am 6'1" looking at the two of us its obvious our ancestors were some broad sword swingin mo-fo's.

Plus if we each wind up with a girlfriend and possibly a guest or two on board, boat gonna get small mighty quick!

I too, am looking at a new boat but not until December or even 2-3 months later. I am looking for a Hudson force 50 with the Bow sprit comes in at 60 feet . it has 3 cabins and a small ballroom for dancing!! Things seem to be falling into place after so many years of crap falling on me as I ran ..

Re: Thinking about jumping the shark.

Heaps of suggestions here, Big Nick... all worth exactly what you paid for them but food for thought. That is the beauty of CF, all well intended, though.
Thank you and others aboard here for your service! As a transplanted Canuck, I never forget what all of you sacrificed so I can live down here securely... Cheers, Phil

on the other hand, i'd ask myself, how much more time do i have to live. even more to the point, how much more of the time i have will i be in shape to enjoy life. even more to the point, why put off living the life i want for another five years just to be five years older and five years closer to death without any guarantee that i will be in a better position.

no matter how detailed you plan your predictions of the future, they are not guarantees.

Mexico would definitely be in your budget but you're isolated socially a little more (language barriers though you can get by if you have some basic spanish and mostly retired gringos being your social circle). For the record I loved living in Mexico, did a week sailing in the Sea of Cortez and could spend a large amount of time just hanging out there on a boat.
.
yes, but don't go swimming there. the humboldts will get you!

I nearly waited myself to death, right? one day I just told myself if you don't do it now, right now.......you never will.......it will remain nothing more than a dream of if's.
If your ever in my neck of the woods and want/need to get out for a day or two, I would be pleased to have you aboard, and I'll keep in mind that you out rank me!
