Starting Out..

I am extremly passionate to get into the industry and develop a career within the boating/sailing world. Growing up my dad had a motor cruiser which was based in Antibes, so spent many a summer there on the boat but obviouly very different to working in the industry I realise. I am currently in the process of going through some basic qualified training in the UK to get more of an idea and understanding.

Preferably I want to work within a marina rather than be part of a crew on a super yacht etc. I am extremely passionate to work voluntarily on yachts, in the marinas and do learn and do anything I can to further my experience.

If anyone has any advice/ideas on where I can start and the qualifications I should be looking at it I would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Starting Out..

Ask at the marinas near you if they need hands. Especially as the weather warms they're likely to need people to pump fuel, man the shops, run errands, paint or grind hulls etc.

Low paying, heavy work is usually in abundance.
