Meteorite Jewelry

Ok, don't know if this the right forum section and this kinda a funny question but here goes.
Does anyone have meteorite jewelry that they wear daily and is exposed to salt water. I am concerned meteorite may rust in heavy salt environment.

Thanks,
Erika

Re: Meteorite Jewelry

Is it magnetic? If I remember correctly, meteorites are made of materials that are found on the earth.

Re: Meteorite Jewelry

They have a very high iron content and will rust. Maybe you could put some kind of clear on it to protect it.

Thanks, they make rings outta the Gideon meteorite, was wondering since it has a high nickel content it would be less prone to rust( that is what the jeweler is saying).
So was hoping someone in the sailing community has one of these rings could confirm it won't rust.
Thanks again for the input,
Erika
