How many Brits are using this Forum?

As a very new member to the forum, may I say how comprehensive and well structured the site is and how welcoming the members are.
Having posted only once, I had warm welcome from just round the corner here in the UK and across the pond in the US!
It was this 'global response' made me wonder just how many Brits (or any other nationality for that case) are using the site and whether it would be possible to search the content 'geographically'?
A geographic search would enable you to:
1. Make contact with local sailors and vendors (to search 'items for sale' for example) and to be able to search for local cruising grounds.
2. Make contact with people who are familiar with a planned destination that you may be unfamiliar with.

Good idea. Another Brit here who finds good international information and ideas. Just never start a thread on the subject of 'guns on boats'.

A Portugal based 'Brit' here...
I think that kinda exists already... most contribute if its an area they're familiar with.. well.. the 'Hard Core' for sure..
I respond to threads relating to N Atlantic/Med and the W coast of Europe from the UK down if I see anyone seeking info.. and I've something to offer..
Also stick my nose in elsewhere just to annoy folks..

Another one here! And there is the UK social group on the forum which you can join but I'm unsure of the value/benefit

Actually things would be much easier if new members filled in their location as the OP did. This shows up under your avatar. Quite often there are queries about matters that are local but the poster does not include his/her location.

I second that - the location should be a mandatory field.

Oops, I'm not a Brit, is this ok?

Well - it looks like we're all cousins of the same family... it's going to take some time to get to know you all!

Now that's the funniest post I've seen on Cruisers Forum outside the joke thread.

Re: How many Brits are using this Forum?

Hmm.. I've got a British catamaran. I'm a resident in a British Overseas Territory. I have a British breed dog. We've been driving two Land Rover Defenders for several years. I worked for two British companies in my career. Do I qualify?

Probably not. I'm a Texan who loves guns.

Am British too, just currently living in Canada. Our boat proudly wears the Red Ensign although it seems no one in Cape Cod seems to know what it is.
