Fractional Catamaran - No Boat Blues

So heres the dilemma. Own 2 homes and can't sell either to move on to our dream of a Cat ownership. So have lemons make lemonade right? Been reading about Fractional Ownership and saw a mention of a "Club" type ownership to test the waters so to speak. Not interested in purchasing a portion of a Cat at this time. Most of the info I've found for "Clubs" is for Cruiser types and not Cats. Anyone know of a Cat Charter co. in the BVI's, or FLA vicinity that offer a "Club" type ownership program?

Not sure I can help but I do know there are many boat clubs in Florida. I do know they aren't cheap to join though and don't know how many of them have cats. Im not sure what the difference would be between a fractional ownership of a cat and a cat "club" would be. Do you? Both, I assume, would limit the amount of time you could actually spend on the cat. The fractional ownership might provide you with a little revenue stream. Why can't you sell your houses? Maybe at a discount just to get them off your plate? Good Luck!

From what I've read, a Club is more of a lease option for a short period of time. A fractional ownership you're actually buying into the boat for an extended run. The clubs I've seen have only been for large yachts and cruisers. We live in a tourist area and housing market is very slow. Can't really drop our home prices any lower than we have already. With two teens not independent yet, only have 2-3 months available for cruising right now. have another month on the market, fingers crossed. Thanks for the response!

Have you been able to by your dream boat? We are looking into buying a 38' cat. How do you feel about co ownership?
