I'd be a little concerned about hiring a USSA, Master Marine Surveyor who got his certification through the mail from Navtech.

If you too want to be a Marine Surveyor you can get your first course for FREE !

Navtech USSA free course.

mmmh .... doesn't inspire confidence for me.

Re: Brokers and surveyors - who to trust?

1 .Visit the boat by yourself and if you fall in love look good to the details.
Sleep a night over it.
2. Maybe are there well other cruisers ans ask them to visit with you the boat and later by a dinner can they explain you there vision.
3. make that you are sure that you have the boat and are sure that you can thake him lagel out the country whithout paying extra fees!

Dont know the details of how each of these guys got their surveyor ticket, but I know them each personally and they are all very knowledgeable with decades of relevant experience.

I don't know anything about them but mail order credentials always make me suspicious.
