Boat from Cape Cod to Washington DC

Hi all! My boyfriend and I are moving from the Cape Cod area to DC. We have a 22 foot sailboat and are trying to find a place to put it in the water near DC. We have a mooring ball. Any ideas on where we could put it? What kind of registrations would we need for DC/VA sailing? Is it similar to MA? Thanks! :-)

Re: Boat from Cape Cod to Washington DC

If you keep the boat in the water you will probably have to register the boat in the state where the boat is moored, even if you live in a different state. So if you live in VA but the boat is in MD you would register the boat in MD.

To place a permanent mooring you will have to check local regulations but most likely some agency somewhere will have some say in the matter. Hopefully someone from the area can help with that.
The water is always bluer on the other side of the ocean.
