haha, it feels that way sometimes. Motorsailing is your friend, you might point up another 15 degrees that way. Not hard to motorsail in a 737 though...

Already off 15 much more comfortable. Bailed on the race today because forecast was light winds instead we have 12 on the nose and chop.

Uh... Set your itinerary based upon the weather instead? Go that other place some other time.

Just got back in myself. Wind was so light the apparent wind went forward at any boat movement. It did come up to about 14knots at 2:30. Was scooting along around 6.7 knots. Funny thing about Ontario is if you don't like the wind wait an hour or two and it will surely do something different. Where the heck was the swell coming from? That was more like ocean sailing.

Only time I've had wind on the nose is bay sailing. And in a couple of pop up storms offshore coastal.

I haven't motorsailed offshore in years. Wind on the beam, more or less, usually same tack all night, swell no more than a meter.

Lucky to be able to wait on the good, and sit out the bad at anchor.
