You can see spectacular dunes all the way from the top of Michigan to Indiana, the shore is mostly flat sand bottom and tall dunes. I live a mile from Lake Michigan and run along the beach often, so lucky to have these beautiful, tall dunes. We idle out the channel to
anchor and swim, run up the dunes, I love this place. I've stopped in Leland for
fuel, stayed a night in Frankfort, both great places. I draw 41" and had no problem, Frankfort was nicer as it is much more sheltered, bigger and more choices.
Outside
Holland, there are speedboats anchored in a long line along the beach in the shallows on every nice weekend day. I was planning on joining them until I found this
boat, have to anchor a little deeper and swim or
dinghy in.
