Have you tried a racoon trap? We were able to catch a wayward little dog with one a few years ago. Just put it near where there was a sighting, baited it with her favourite toy and blanket and the next morning, there she was with a stupid grin on her face.

Yup. Tried that. A bit leary of leaving a baited trap there when we're over an hour away. If the folks that own the trailer can't get ahold of him by this weekend we may try again when they're there to watch it.

Update! Squirt has been sighted again! He's on the move. It appears he's headed back in the direction he came from, back to our friends cottage where he disappeared! We'll go back again on the weekend to try to capture his furry butt!

I kinda miss the silly lil' bugger!

We went back early Monday morning to have a look around and replenish his food supply. Apparently he's being seen more and more and ranging a little farther afield. Both are good I guess if more people are seeing him around. He's still elusive though. We can only get up there once a week now and pretty much have to rely on someone capturing him or him inviting himself into someones trailer/cottage (which is how he came to us). I don't think we're going to be able to keep up the weekly pilgramages for much longer.

We Got Him! We Got Him!

We Got Him! We Got Him!

After 3-1/2 months "Canada's Most Wanted" fugitive Pussy Cat is HOME!

Wohoo!!! Cheers & Thanks to everybody who wished us well!

We were there for less than 5 minutes this morning. He was right where they told us he would be. When we got there we could see him about 30 yrs away crying. We set up the pet-taxi trap and he worked his way to it right away. Our hearts were beating I thought it'd pop right out of my chest and our knees were shaking. He went right into the pet-taxi and sort of sniffed the tuna-bait and then backed out. We were waiting for him to get fully inside. He's a smart bugger, he circled the trap looking for another way to get the food then his belly took over and in he went. As soon as his hind quarters were in we pulled the door shut! He was a bit upset let me tell ya!

We're just glad he's home. He's a lil' dirty, lil' wet and a lotta scared. It'll take some time to get him back to his old self but we're prepared for that.

Again thanks everybody for all the well wishes.

Squirt's sleepin' off a fully belly in the basement tonight. It's as if someone had flicked a switch and he's in home mode. He comes up to us for scratchies etc. so he's pretty much back to normal. We'll let him loose in the rest of the house tomorrow.

We got our full crew back now!

Thnx Frz. It's been quite a soap opera! *lol*

I'd guestimate he's down to about 9 lbs from 16 when he jumped ship. He's all fur and we can feel the riblets. I think he's lost a lot of muscle tone mostly.

Lori said it this morning; "It's like the last 3-1/2 months haven't happened" as far as Squirt's concerned! He's fit back in just like a key in a lock!

He slept on the bed with us last night (and hogged her side of the bed). She swears he was talking in his sleep. Probably dreaming about breakfast!

We are so happy to have him back and just in time too, it's snowing today. The princess (Shadow), as you can imagine, has her nose out of joint a little bit but they haven't come to blows yet.

Squirt update!

The lil' Prince has settled in nicely!

He seems to be a little low on energy but this is probably to be expected.

Back to his old ways, warming mummy's feets and looking Regal all at the same time!

The lil' Princess also seems to be getting more comfortable with Squirt around. She's not snarlin' and hissin' and spittin' as much!

Shadow: "I don't care if his picture is on the bag, that's my food!"

He's started to assert his dominance over the household. Lately he's taken a few runs at Shadow but I think she's the instigator. Here he is with his "Hollywood Squirt" pose.

Here he is waiting for his mummy to get home and keeping an eye on the neighborhood strays.

He's starting to put a lil' weight back on and eating near constantly which as you can imagine means a lot of scooping the litter box eh mummy?
