Incinerator toilet questions

I am Philippines and thinking of bringing my vessel to the Great Lakes.

It is simply too big to dock every time to pump a black water tank and it looks like incineration of waste is only way to go.

Questions:
1. How many toilets must I have? My vessel usually has 3-4 aboard which suggests 1. However, I have 8 bunks which suggests 2. If racing I may have 15-20 aboard. That means even more?

2. Where are people putting them? My toilets are now integrated with the shower. However, these toilets say they should not get wet.

3. Venting the toilet. How high are people locating vents to eliminate smell issues?

4. Anyone know someone who now longer needs them? I am leaning towards 2 Incinolet.

I am thinking of locating one each in port and starboard ama or building new heads on deck level.

Nice to talk someone who has gone through this process.

Do you really race? No racer I know would ever put an extra head on the boat. Lighter=Faster

Re: Incinerator toilet questions

I go in the races for fun which is why so many are aboard. I am a cruising sailor. If coast guard finds 20 people on board they may insist on proof I have tankage to hold a ton of waste for a full day race or can incinerate it.

Re: Incinerator toilet questions

Timing is close to reach the 2017 starting line, however, it is a specific race I would want to enter.

I checked the 2016 refs for multihulls
" Boats shall have a permanently installed operable toilet, or a portable toilet, properly secured."

This reg makes no mention of ratio of toilets to crew and simply says 1.

Of course I would not want to ask race committee since likely they would find reason to make entry rules more restrictive.

What are the big boats doing with many crew members?
