Well, unless you find nice easterlies (not likely this time of year), once you get into the Gulf of St. Lawrence, you are working against current
, wind and half the time, tide.
Unless you are going for the scenery at Cape Breton/Bras d'Or Lakes (which I understand is really nice), and if you want to just get there, I would sail Halifax
to New York
City (and soon, given hurricane
season's started), and then motor
up the Hudson
to Albany and then lock up to Oswego. You can see Kingston from Oswego, or near enough...it's a four-hour beam reach or thereabouts NNW.
Otherwise, it's a lot of diesel
