Goodbye Pirate Creds

How many have had tired birds land not only on their boat but on their shoulder? I thought it was a parrot that a pirate had perched on the shoulder. This female American Goldfinch thought my boat was an apt place to rest for a time. Landed on a lifeline and when I extended my finger it decided to hop up my arm and ride my shoulder. From there it proceeded behind my head and to my other shoulder. From there into the cabin where it explored for the better part of two hours. Of course popcorn, dead bugs and water were offered and consumed with great gusto. Then during a sail change it was off. Always and adventure up here in the north. But for crying out loud there go my pirate creds.
