Boblo Marina (Detroit River Bois Blanc)

I am the Fleet Captain of a Yacht Club on Lake Erie and need information on water depths on the approach to Boblo Marina on the West side of Bois Blanc Island. Can sailboats with 5.5 to 6 foot drafts enter the Marina?

I understand the best approach is North on the Amherstburg Channel then west to the "hole in the wall" then south close to the Livingstone breakwall into the marina.

I also understand weeds are thick in the area......any local insight from past visitors here would be VERY helpful.

Been quite a few years since I was on the west side of Boblo...and yes the weeds are horrendous there...as can be seen from the areal pictures posted here:

Looking at the chart I have shows 4' and I don't ever recall seeing keel boats there.

Our club visited Bob-lo last year and had a great time! I carried about 5 feet straight in to a slip and had no problems. their web site claims 6 feet.
I would give them a call 519-730-0194 and get their latest word on depths. It is well worth the trouble to get there.
