Yanmar 4JH4-TE engine

I may have a 2014 Yanmar 4JH4-TE 75hp engine with a ZF 15 MIV v-drive 2:1 gear with 70hrs that would be up for sale. We're thinking of going to a smaller engine. We feel it's a bit too much for our boat and so I'm just feeling out if there would be interest in it. It's not out of the boat so I didn't want to put this as an official forum classified.

We installed it in late 2015 and since have broken it in per Yanmar manual. We have been refitting the boat since and so it has low hours on it. No rust, very clean. Have engine mounts for 22" centers as well as the original which were 19". We have added a remote oil filter with spare filters. Also have a spare turbo. Engine came with 80a Hitachi alt with serpentine belt and water heater take off fittings. We also have a spare Hurth 150miv v-drive for parts. I'm unsure of its operation because it came with the old engine but their identical and would make for a great part donor. We made a adapter for a k&n air filter instead of the original metal screen, both would be included.

I have all the shop, service, parts, installation manuals for both engine and gear in spiral books with nice paper.

Just putting a feeler out to see if anyone is looking to repower their boat soon. We could probably deliver for a small amount to anywhere in the US if you don't want to pay for freight. We're located in 70458 area code.

We would ask for $13200 for everything.

Would consider selling as a bobtail engine also.

Like I said, this isn't an official sale just wanted to get a feel for the demand.

I agree. That is a great engine and will last many thousands of hours. For a 47 foot boat it is just about as small an engine as the next owner will want. Going smaller will significantly reduce resale I suspect.

Re: Yanmar 4JH4-TE engine

I have a 46 foot boat with the same (albeit older) engine. Very reliable. The key is your boat's displacement. Mine is 15 tons. My boat is not under powered. It is just right.
