Yacht Delivery :Looking for Blackbeard the crazy sailor with big balls and brains.

Why spend all that money on a yacht when you can sail for a great prize!
How about a yacht delivery Cape Town to Azores Islands, payment will be a piece of real estate on the Mid -Atlantic paradise of the Azores.

I am based in the Azores, have living here for many years and sell small parcels of land to yachties and alike. Most people relocate here to retire or just get away from the rate race, etc.

I can offer an amazing deal in the form of real estate which has potential for a great retired life. For the yacht delivery I will transfer a great property into your name with all expenses paid for. I would require references. The ideal person or couple would be someone mature and experienced with a long cruising record and wants a great solid spot on our rock. Also the person would be someone who is self-reliant and is competent at maintaining and servicing the yacht. The yacht would require work and finance to prepare it for it journey ,which I am prepared to fund.

Below is maps and info of the pilots general routing.
Leaving times are December to June.

Oh dear.

You might want to include further information on the boat, it's state, what kind of work it requires, etc.

That ad says it's in California, you want it delivered from South Africa.

So... uhm, which side of the planet is it really on?

Tha ad also says that big, heavy ferro boat has a 30 how engine. That seems inadequate, to me.

Actually the ad says its a steel boat..
But.. if it is in fact in South Africa this job will only be open to S African citizens.. other nationalities would be considered illeagal.
Also.. thats a rather SA backdrop in the photo..

Professionally built for racing from steel and Ferro Cement with a lifetime outer skin of ABE Epoxy coating .This type of hull has almost zero maintenance.
I assumed it meant steel mesh and FC. In the hull material section, it does say steel. I choose to think that is the incorrect portion of the ad.[emoji1]

And Edward Teach (Blackbeard) ran Queen Anns Revenge aground and he was later killed at sea by the navy. Have fun out there now!

Re: Yacht Delivery :Looking for Blackbeard the crazy sailor with big balls and brain

pictures look nice.

for sale listing says it is steel frame with ferro cement, covered by epoxy.
also says it has a 46' beam - the first Panamax sailboat!

I am thinking about old steel inside of cement inside of epoxy...

Just opened and read the whole ad.. Phone is a pain.. impressive build up with the illustrated plans.. if a pro build it should be in good order as many of these pro built boats are after many years.. 99K for a ferro that size is opptomistic I agree.

Re: Yacht Delivery :Looking for Blackbeard the crazy sailor with big balls and brain

i think i would want a reasonable sized deposit refundable on completion of the land transfer.
also having a sa skipper only applies to south african registered boats.
the diesel looks like a ferryman in reasonable condition producing 30hp at about 1800 rpm,so equivalent to a more modern engine producing 50 hp at 3600rpm.

SA has a large portugese community from madeira and the azores so it is concievable the owner has family property there

meme grant a well know sa sailing instructor lives in the azores now and i'm sure if contacted could verify the op's bona fides for prospective delivery skippers.

Hey.. maybe I should consider this job.. finally become a property owner.. retire in the Azores.. can think of worse places..
depending on which Island the property is on.. and what it is.. just some land has zero value to me..
Looks like the island of Pico in the picture.

Re: Yacht Delivery :Looking for Blackbeard the crazy sailor with big balls and brain

Land is very inexpensive in the Azores. A cruising friend of mine bought a house there for about $5,000. It needed considerable work - the roof was caved in but the rest of the structure was quite solid. My friends were EU citizens.

You are better off just going there and buying property than this questionable proposal.

BTW, Portugal is a Shengen country so you need to do your homework before you buy.
