Re: Wireless Remote Control for Autohelm, Raymarine and Simrad autopilots

I made an instrument cover from fiberglass using the instrument as a mold. Written up in Good Old Boat magazine a few years ago.

Rick, the sale prices on the web seem to have expired before today. Can you still honor the sale prices?

Rick, thanks for being so responsive to the pricing query, and for honoring the sale pricing. I don't know how/ can't delete my original post so the best I know how to do is update it with my satisfied experience in dealing with your company. As an IT guy I'm familiar with how automated pricing engines kick in on due date, and not on expiry date. My fault for procrastinating. Thanks again for your responsiveness.

Yes, sorry, my daughter’s here for the weekend. Of course, we’ll honor the sale price. I’ve just reset the website price back to the sale until I receive your order.

Cheers
Rick.

Your product looks great but I have a Simrad AC42 and it doesn’t appear that you have one that is compatible. Is there plans for one in the future?

Re: Wireless Remote Control for Autohelm, Raymarine and Simrad autopilots

I am looking for a "gadget" to plug into (or between) the remote controller of the anchor windlass and the controller. Ideally a plug version with fits to the Quick remote controller plug.
Ideally also a chain counter is shown.
Want to use this "gadget" on different charter vessels on the helm, to avoid having to have someone at the bow handling the chain.

Anyone aware if such a remote control already exists or interested to develop it?

Do you still sell these? I have a autohelm 3000 and think that may be a handy item for a single hander like myself sailing the Salish Sea...

I call this autopilot AutoBuddy. You wear it on your wrist like a watch and you can perform many autopilot functions from anywhere on your boat - up to 75' away. Simple to install - works with all SeaTalk and non SeaTalk version of Autohelm and Raymarine autopilots.

Prices are as follows (includes FREE worldwide shipping):

AutoBuddy for SeaTalk autopilots (ie. ST): $249 USD
AutoBuddy for old Autohelm 3000 or 4000: $199 USD
AutoBuddy for Simrad / Robertson J300X : $199 USD

This product has been sold worldwide to dozens of sailors and is economical compared to other autopilot remote controls.

The SeaTalk version includes an advanced tacking algorithm I call ProTack that pulls the bow quickly through the wind, then heads up slightly while you handle the sails, then continues to the tack heading. Perfect for single handed sailing.

Contact me if you'd like more information.

Yes, they’re all available on our website at i3DGear. Just google it.

We are on Salt Spring Island, so not far from the Salish Sea!

Cheers, Rick.

I cant seem to locate this one AutoBuddy for old Autohelm 3000 or 4000: $199 USD on the website which is the one I think I need for my unit. Do you have a direct link to it?

I'm sorry. We stopped manufacturing and selling the entire AutoBuddy line 2 years ago. It was a great product.
