Wind up to 53kt in Vonitsa Greece

Hi
2 boats are in bad situation in Vonitsa
Thalassa ssr152693 the anckor slips and if the wind change direction it can be seriously damaged
Angusta registred London I put 2 times fender at the right place but the back is already damaged. An another storm and this boat may sink: the queel is at 2m of rocks

First of all, in the name of the sailing community, thanks for your efforts to save those boats.

Do you mean that the boats are not on the small port but on the small anchorage on the other side of the city? Left there for the winter unattended? That's crazy since the port is not expensive and that anchorage is not completely protected, being the local winds quite strong.

Two more candidates to wrecks that litter many Greece ports and anchorages, what a shame, for the boats and for Greece.

Hello Polux
The boat named anyusta is out of the port and one of the two fender explose. The next wind from east at 4 beaufort and the queel could touch the rocks near the quai along the road, where there are a lot of restaurants.
For the boat named thalassa : it stays in the port but at the quai where are fichermen. The chain goes down in the water at vertical !!!

Maybe you can get information about the boat owner's contacts at the local port authority or on the local coast guard.

I cannot remember if the port is payed or not (I always stayed there at anchor) if it is paid and if the boat on the port payed for staying they should have their address. They should be interested because if the boats sunk it will be a mess to take it out of there, but probably they don't care.

I understand what you feel. It is terrible to see someones boat being destroyed. :-(
