WiFi BaseStation Navico "GoFree"WiFi1 Module for Lowrance & Simrad - $160

The Go Free Wifi adapter is a compact device that connects to your Lowrance or Simrad Multifunction Displays via Ethernet Multiple Multifunction Display units can be used with just one WIFI-1 module, meaning that an entire system can be online with just the addition of one handy wireless gateway.
Was given this as a bonus gift but already had one so this unit has never been out of box. Cheapest price online is $189.00.
Wireless Communication for your Lowrance or Simrad
The GoFree WIFI-1 is a marine grade wireless gateway module which provides users the ability to view and control compatible Simrad and Lowrance Multifunction Displays with a compatible iPad or view the MFD display with a compatible smartphone.

I have an N2k network but no mfd. Can I use the gofree and a Android smart phone to view network data & control my simrad AP12 autopilot? Does it have to plug in to an mfd to work.

Hello,
I would not want to risk giving the wrong info so suggest you contact Navico tech support - this is the parent company of Simrad and B&G and Lowrance.

I am pretty sure you need the mfd to take advantage of the wireless unit. The only input/output appears to be Ethernet. I would double check with manufacturer.
