For Sale or Trade: Volvo MD2030 and 130 saildrive

29 horse power Volvo MD2030 motor with 130 saildrive. Engine needs an overhaul or used as parts. Saildrive in working order, with no corrosion and was serviced with new seals recently, and has good clear gear oil.

Yes I will sell separately. The boat is in Seattle WA and I will accept a reasonable offer for either. A new saildrive is $7000.00 according to Marine Parts Express, a used one is listed on ebay for $1500.00. The heat exchanger was replaced two years ago at a cost of $800.00 for just the housing.

and your price? for engine? for saildrive? the heat exchanger is being sold separate also? price?

I'm open to reasonable offers for either the saildrive, the engine, or both. I thru out the numbers as comparable figures to demonstrate the value to be had in buying used working parts, versus new.

$2500.00 for the package. Replacement cost of a saildrive is $7000.00, a used one on ebay is listed at $1500.00. The heat exchanger is two years old and it cost $800.00 to replace for just the housing. The engine could be used for parts for another Volvo/Perkins or overhauled by a DIYer at a fraction of the cost, that I'm paying for a new repower. If I had the time to repair it myself, I would, and I don't know of any small engine diesel mechanics in my area that want the job. They prefer working on the big marinized Detroit's.
