Re: Used ham radio

I've got a spare ICOM 725 HF. It's "Opened," but don't you dare trasnsmit on the marine SSB frequencies unless you want to endure the wrath of the serious SSB users on this forum. They are not known for their sense of humor when it comes to messy ham output on nice tidy marine SSB channels.

Re: Used ham radio

You want a ham radio, or a marine-certified HF, SSB radio? Need to be clear on that.

You say ham, so...
qth.com
qrz.com
eham.net
as well as the usual suspects: ebay, craigslist, and so on

The first three are all ham websites that have extensive "for sale" listings.

Good luck.

Re: Used ham radio

I have this ICOM IC 728 complete with manual and automatic tuners, rope antenna, and cables. Radio works perfectly. Am trying to add photos, but nothing as yet.

Re: Used ham radio

My spare "opened" ICOM 725 is still in the box from having been checked out by a reputable technician. It's available for $300. Microphone, but no antennas, etc. The manual is online. I'm both ham general class and marine, but transmit only on ham frequencies with my in-service 725 because the marine SSB frequencies are noisy by SSB standards. In an emergency, maybe.

Re: Used ham radio

do you have to use a tuner when you operate the 725?
