Want To Buy: Sailrite Sewing Macihne wanted

I'm hoping to find a used Sailrite LSZ Ultrafeed or its predecessor the older version-- the Sailrite Sailmaker with a longer underarm. If anyone in the forum is "done" doing bigger projects, has a machine that is just gathering dust, and is interested in giving theirs up to a new owner, please let me know. Looking for one in a typical "used" price range. I have a wonderful old machine (my mom's she bought in the late '50s) for daily home sewing but I need something robust for repairs and new projects for our boat. Thanks!

That person has one for sale, at what I thought was a very good price just having bought a new one myself, looking at mine I doubt if it's ever oiled It would wear out.

So, what all that gobbeldygook I wrote means that CF member, screen name <lancelot9898> has a Sailright LSZ-1 for sale on the "Want to Buy An LSZ-1" thread, which was ongoing this morning when I wrote the post.

What you would do would be to either search for the other thread, or do a CF Google Custom Search on his screen name, then send him a PM, which you can do from the CP.

I have a very old Sailrite - came w/ the 1978 boat, that I could part with for very little money. It runs... I tried it and couldn't adjust the tension correctly but subsequently found the manual.

If you don't found a used one, consider the Rex 607Z. $329 on Amazon. Same basic machine as the Sailrite but without their refinements. Add the PosiPin and Power Wheel for about $100 and you're all set. A Sailrite will likely hold up better as some of the critical parts are beefed up, but those beefed up parts are available separately. I just traded my 10 year old LS1 straight stitch for the zig zag Rex and made $100 on the deal. So far I'm happy with the new machine.
