Rocna 25 anchor in fair condition $150

Hello,

The anchor is located in Ft Lauderdale. I have used it very successfully for several years (it came with my Hylas 46) and it never once slipped or dragged on me. But as part of a major upgrade I decided to upgrade to a rocna 33.

Please contact me by email Peter at lambdomain dot com if interested.

Peter, it would be perfect for my Hylas 44. If only it were in Maryland, or better yet, I was in florida!

Yes! Florida is great! And it has been a very good anchor! I upgraded because I was told that I should be concerned about not only the length of my boat but also the weight. My Hylas 46 fully loaded weighs 47,000lbs!

If you have not already bought the 33, I’d go bigger myself with a boat that heavy.

I think you may have a typo regarding your vessel's weight. Empty it's a bit over 27K. I doubt you've added 20K. At 30K loaded shpulden't your anchor weight be closer to 65 lbs. Just a thought.

Re: Rocna 25 anchor in fair condition $150

I guess some folks are getting confused with the Kilos and the Pounds. Damn standard system ... Rocna puts its anchors in kilos, a 33 is a 73lbs anchor. I think he will be JUST fine with that anchor for his Hylas. BTW the 25 he is dumping is a 55lbs anchor. Just the upper size for a cruising loaded 40-42 with high displacement.

Cheers!

Just for a comparison point, I have a Rocna 25 on my IP 38, and a Rocna 40.
The 25 worked fine, never had a problem.
I bought the 40 as a Storm anchor, but ended up using it all of the time.
As long as the boat doesn’t mind the weight, I see no downside to a big anchor, just upsides.
However even a huge anchor doesn’t delete the requirement of properly setting an anchor, trust me.
I like having the two Rocna’s cause I know one day something will happen and I’ll lose one, so I have a back-up.

My IP is about 24,000 lbs loaded, I think.

Wish I was in FL, I wouldn't mind having that hook for my Roberts 44
