Raymarine Autohelm ST4000 "Plus" Wheel Autopilot System

Details of this system-

System removed from a 34ft sailboat for upgrade.

I completely disassembled the wheel drive, cleaned and inspected the components within. (Boat owner said the wheel drive was three years old)

Do not get the wheel drive power cable or the Torque Restraint Pin so I am including both as new to include as part of this kit.

Bench tested all components before and after removal to verify functionality.

I have the same system on my Jeanneau fitted two years ago. No problems with the unit keeping a course but the proximity of the motor has screwed up my main steering compass.
I've tried to correct it with the magnets under the compass but to no avail.
Any ideas?

Hire a compass professional to take a look at it. Best case scenario they can adjust the compass and/or suggest appropriate shielding so that the compass is accurate. Worst case scenario, they can make up a correction card for you, because the deviation is not going to be uniform (e.g. the deviation might be +5° on one heading and -15° on another).

Keep in mind that the adjustments and card will not necessarily be the same if you move your boat to a different part of the world.
