For Sale: PUR 35 manual desalinator

We purchased this unit 12 years ago with the understanding it was unused military surplus. We kept it in the ditch bag for a couple of years while sailing in Mexico, and it has been stored ashore (dry heated room) since 2008. The date of manufacture is 1995. When I did try it out a few years back, it did not seem to produce drinkable water. Further inspection revealed the membrane element was broken off at the top. This can be seen in the pictures. The new element is available for about $340. A new PUR 35 unit is about $2,400 USD and a rebuilt is about $2,000 USD. I am asking $200 USD. I will ship it at cost; no handling charge. This is a manual unit. We carried it aboard as an emergency back up, but never needed it. Thanks for looking.
