it accepts several types/sizes of chain up to 3/8 I believe.

a little research turned this up:

There is a specific gipsy for each size of chain. It is not universal.

I looked at the engineering drawings from the manufactures website. Each chain size had a unique part number.

It's true, there's a specific chain gypsy for each size chain (I just purchased one of these). I've attached the chart below.

I have only used it with 3/8" BBB and the person I bought gave me a bunch of 5/16" I believe G4 but not too sure...they may not offer this gypsy any longer but the one on this unit will fit several types
