So is it a 1 inch shaft or a 25 mm shaft? The diameters are close but the machined shaft taper is quite different between metric and SAE shafts.

25mm, I thought it was the same thing. The boat is a French Sun Odyssey 35 with Yanmar 3gm30f 27hp
