Yep.

Santa couldn't afford a shiny new one - even at a good price.

Was hoping for a good used one out there somewhere.

Re: icom m802 w/ accoutrements

I have a like new 802 that we purchased about a year ago. We used it on our last boat which we just sold but removed it before selling, and our new boat (bought a week ago) already has a 710 installed.

It's complete with a GAM split lead antenna, AT-140 Tuner and a KISS counterpoise. I also have the emergency DSC antenna that goes with it. The setup worked great for us!

I'd like to sell it all as a package. PM me if you're interested.

Re: icom m802 w/ accoutrements

I appreciate the response and offer, but I really must obtain used equipment at a substantial discount. I cannot afford pay retail prices for used gear sight unseen and as-is.

If you are serious to sell, please send a private email and we can discuss.

Best Regards

Re: icom m802 w/ accoutrements

Retail
DR7400 Pactor with Bluetooth and cable $1800
M802 $1800
Cloning software and cable Guessing at $200

AT 140 $480
Additional Cabling - guessing at $100
Total $ $4380 plus applicable taxes and freight
I am offering an 'as new condition' setup at $3000 with no taxes plus freight - definitely not retail but yes, it is used equipment and sight unseen.

What everyone who is selling 'like new' items seems to forget is there is no guarantee, no matter what it's a craps shoot. If in two days it stops working, well there is no getting it fixed for free. For me, I don't pay any more then 1/2 of retail, that's just my rule.

I recently purchased a used SSB and tuner like what you are looking for, because of how the Nav Station is built in my boat I needed a remotely mounted head which limited me to M-802 or SG-2000. I bought a SG-2000 and SG-235 tuner for $600.

Agreed, it is a crapshoot ....sometimes it surprises me how much people will pay for used goods.

Would I pay $3000 for that setup? ... only in person after I had a chance to check things out ... but that applies to anything at that cost level. On the other hand, I think it is a fair price for equipment that is basically brand new.
It is what it is and if I have to sit on the equipment for a while then so be it. Just like in used boats, you can buy at the low end or the high end in the used market. The equipment I am selling is at the high end of the market because of it's age and condition.

Re: icom m802 w/ accoutrements

Perhaps you should suggest what you are willing to pay? A used ICOM M802 isn't going to sell for less than $1,000. A Pactor III modem will sell for $700+. KISS another $150 (not going to find used). Power & coax cables, etc., are easily worth $150. That's $2,000+.

Other models are considerably less -- SEA 235's occasionally sell for $750-$1,000 (no remote control).

One other consideration - do you want/need marine SSB, HAM or both? HAM radios sell for less. With proper licensing, you can use HAM frequencies and Winlink, without needing SSB.
