Ham radio, Pactor modem and antenna tuner
After a 10- year circumnavigation when I used this setup daily my cruising is now limited to shorter bay and coastal voyages so I no longer have any need for this stuff. For ocean voyaging its definitely some of the most important gear to carry, being able to always send and receive emails like grib files and being able to communicate with fellow cruisers when out of vhf range. The screen on the radio has gone a bit dark but can still be read, otherwise everything is in good condition. The radio is an ICOM IC-706 MkllG, the modem a Pactor SCS PTC-2E and the tuner is an ICOM AH-4 automatic tuner.
I'm asking $150 for the radio, $450 for the modem with cables and $200 for the tuner. Cheers, Gunnar

Your location? Radio serial number? SCS modem has PACTOR 3 license?

Re: Ham radio, Pactor modem and antenna tuner
I'm located in Brisbane and yes, the SCS has Pactor 3 license. I'm selling the radio cheap (probably too cheap) because of the dark screen which makes it a bit hard to read.

Where are you located in US? I am interested in the radio only and shipped to North Carolina.

Do you by any chance have a photo of the dark screen of the radio?
Are you open to selling separately or only all together?

Re: Ham radio, Pactor modem and antenna tuner
I have a question about that setup. I bought a boat that has a HAM & a pactor modem but no clue where to get educated on how the system works. Any ideas? How do I find someone to help me set it up?

Re: Ham radio, Pactor modem and antenna tuner
First off you must be licensed for HAM radio use!! As to set up, contact a HAM radio club or a licensed HAM operator in your area, they may be able to help with setting up the system

I have a 706 MK2g with good display but vhf/uhf stopped, so I would be happy to buy your radio if shipping to US not terrible. Slow is ok by me Thanks John NA9J S/V Kalena Kolika 1977 Islander 32MK2 Punta Gorda FL 33950

I can take a photo if you like but wouldn't show much. I have all channels preset so not so important to see the display (which can still be seen with some difficultly) Would prefer to sell all together as this is complete setup to fit on a boat except for an insulated backstay.

Sorry, the thought of uninstalling this all from the boat and shipping to the US just sees abit much for 150 bucks! I think I might just leave it all onboard even if it doesn't get much use. There is an amazing array of leads and cables between radio, head, modem and tuner.
