Great Lakes Cruising Guides

Hi Everyone, I just bought a boat in the Great Lakes. This is a new area to me. I was hoping someone had the Richardson's and/or Ports cruising guides that were collecting dust and might want to sell.

I am interested in all the Great Lakes, so please let me know what you have, and I could send PayPal for shipment to Mesa, Arizona.

I just ordered the 2017 Waterway Guide to the Great Lakes from Amazon.

Thank you!

CHECK OUT THE dnr (DEPT, oF NATURAL RESOURCES) "Harbor Guide" you can downloed A PFD file I think, off google. I started last year with East Tawas at the 4th of july. Good times. Going to try Caseville on the "thumb"/ Eventually getting to the west side and Lake Michigan. Good luck and Great sailing.

Also consider joining the Great Lakes Cruising Club - gets you access to an extensive collection of harbour reports and a network of people with common interests.

I have 2 Lake Michigan chartbooks by richardson. 1 is 4th edition. The other is quite old. Both are unmarked. You can have them for $35 + postage from 33062. You can determine if they can be sent media rate. Bob

Re: Great Lakes Cruising Guides

My new to me in October trawler came complete with GL cruising guides which will be gathering dust. I'll be on the boat tonight and will let you know what I have in case you're interested.

2nd or 3rd for the Great Lakes Cruising Club. The Harbor Reports are worth the money themselves!

Where are you based out of? I have a boat on Lake Michigan in Sheboygan, WI.

Re: Great Lakes Cruising Guides

I used a iPad with Garmin BlueChart mobile with the Active Captain information overlay. Worked great for anchorages and free walls. Also used the recommendations on marinas for stops to re-provision and fuel. I have no idea how well it’ll work now that Garmin bought AC.

Hello kapnkarl, we'd be 2nd in line for the guides if the zugbug99 isn't interested. Great info, all you folks, thank you.

Re: Great Lakes Cruising Guides

@ZugBug... Sorry for the delay in getting back on this. I've attached a pic of the binders I have with the Great Lakes Cruising Club guides. They are from the prior owner of the boat and I believe are from about 2004-2008. Let me know if you're still interested and I'll find out what shipping would be from where I am in New Jersey. You can have them for the cost of shipping. I'd rather someone have them that can make use of them, instead of just recycling the paper. They're beefy binders so shipping might be a few bucks... but less than a boat buck .
