Goiot Handle

Hello
I am looking for this handle, used or otherwise new. They were used in Goiot traditional hatches, entry sliding hatches and deck hatches. If you know where I can find it please let me know. Thank you.

Re: Goiot Handle

I've never seen them. I presume they are aluminum. If you have a good one, a local machinist should be able to mill one out. I would suggest more than one since the price per unit may be slightly lower and you will have some spares.

Re: Goiot Handle

Thank you for your suggestion. I already try that... the problem here in Panama is that they don't have stock aluminum thick enough... but I will keep trying.

Re: Goiot Handle

Felipe,

Ask how big the stock aluminum needs to be and then order a couple meters to take to the machinist. Have them give you the specifications. Go to the Internet and order it. I'm disappointed that they weren't willing to order it themselves. If they tell you it's not right, remind them that's what they specified. After that well kick some **s.

Re: Goiot Handle

What size would the stock have to be in order to machine one?

Ask the machine shop what they need, then go on the Internet and order it.

Re: Goiot Handle

Thank you for your encouragement, I feel motivated to go back and ask them again. They would need almost 4cm (3.6cm) thick aluminum and they said they only have 1". But I am thinking about modifying the handle so that it is straight and not with the curve... that way they would only need 2cm thick.
Thanks again!

Contact Budget Marine in St. Maarten. They stock Goiot hatch parts.

Re: Goiot Handle

Thanks. They don't list it but I think they can get it special order at over $500 plus shipping each...!! No, I am looking for a used one or probably order the materials and have a machine shop make them.

Re: Goiot Handle

I ordered 6 blocks of 6061-T6511 aluminum size 1.5" x 2.5" x 5" from Speedy Metals, got them and a machine shop locally is making the handles.
I have enough material for 6 top and lower handles and the cost is $35 each pair. I am posting this in case others with the same Goiot hatches had the same troubles as I did.
Thank you for your suggestion Rich (Cabo Sailor) !!
Felipe
