Darn, I have the money but I am not spending anything until after the election, I would be interested because it has potential.

I keep wishing someone would give me a Hatteras.

Its getting pretty cold here right now, 8 degrees F.

I'm at the end of my work season so I have all the time to be on forums and Craigslist.

I saw a listing of a 34' Chris Craft Connie, seller wants only $500 for it. It was in the SF bay area, I wasn't interested but I'm sure some aspiring boat owner will fall into it, as much as I want a cheap boat the more I realize there is no such think because the cheaper they are initially usually means more to bring it back to shipshape.

However there is always an opportunity awaiting each of us, I remember the ferro boat earlier this year CSY Man posted, I hope it found a good home.

It is on the bottom of the ocean, not a good ending to the story.

Well, the boat was delivered to Bimini where the new owner took over.
Him and the old owner sailed around a few days, then they entered Bimini harbour one more time. The new owner was at the helm and got distracted and ran into a fixed marker and crushed the Starboard side of the boat.
Turned out the cement was quite brittle and after emergency repairs to keep the beast afloat, the owner took it to a boatyard in Freeport.
They refused to haul it for repairs and with the boat being fatally wounded with no repairs possible, the engine and tanks was removed, then towed into deep waters and scuttled...

This an image of the wound.

There Wasilla...I rest my case...Look at the quality of either the wood or the fiberglass in that picture...compared to the steel that the cement is relying on for strength.

Most fero's in my opinion will be like this...some professionally built ones maybe not...not worth the risk IMHO.
Think about it...cement is less water proof then gel coat and we all know now how good that is...so the paint is doing most of the work on thease boats to keep moisture away from the steel.

Not trying to ruffle any feathers of any Fero owners around here my boat isn't suitable for some things either as Its not built very strong so we all have to be realistic with what we have.

For me...Ill stand on what I said..Give me a Woodie to sink money into over fero any day...at least problums are apparent.

Maybe Ronnie in Hong Kong could use it.

I thought there was a picture here of that ferro boat but I cannot find it, it was what 62' long? Something about it being a fishing boat from Canada I think at one time.
