Flying Sale Furler

This is a roller furler for use with a flying sail in conjunction with a bare forestay. The lower unit drum is 2″ in diameter and 2″ high with an outer flange diameter of 6″. There is a 3/8″ diameter hole in the upper flange for securing a furling line. The overall height of the lower unit from bottom fitting to top fitting is approximately 7″. The upper unit is approximately 7″ overall length, 1-7/8″ diameter and has a pair of heavy wire fingers for clipping onto the headstay which extend from the body of the upper unit approximately 2-1/2″. Both upper and lower units have ball bearings for ease of rotation under load.

This item is located in Corpus Christi, Texas and is available for $200 plus shipping.

Re: Flying Sale Furler

The furler is made by Schaefer. I do not know what model it is or what size boat or sail it is rated for. It was originally used on a Diva 39, a 9500 lb boat built like a racer but advertised as a cruiser. I do not know what type or size sail the furler was used with on that boat.
