Just asking, what is it you’re running that an 8kw can’t handle? I’m looking at generators at the moment and 8 sounds a lot to me...

I’m glad you liked the video - we seriously don’t know the ‘people on the street’. We just had a lot of foot traffic on the dock that day and it felt like a fun thing to do as my husband was at the boat show">Miami boat show.

Our battery charger delivers 240 amps of charging at 12 volts to our new Lithium batteries.When we add that to our CruiseRO 240 V water maker, our Splendide washer/dryer and potentially AC we get to about 32 amps at 240 volts. That is slightly more than we can expect an 8 kw generator to deliver. It’s really the Lithium batteries that is forcing the upgrade because they take that full charge current for the entire charge cycle.

So just de-rate the LFP charging a little, make use of whatever's leftover from the current loads.

No need to get them near Full anyway, healthier if you don't.
