ELECTRIC WINCH WINDER MILWAUKEE RIGHT ANGLED DRILL

WINCH BIT
For standard 11/16" double square hand cranked winches found on most sailing vessels. The driving head is an 11/16" double square, giving a large driving surface area. The shank is 1/2" round with three flats machined equally around to allow a very positive grip from your 1/2" or larger driving chuck. It is designed for use with the newer high torque Lithium Ion angle cordless drills in mind. It is an inexpensive alternative to a fully electric winch.

OLD MILWAUKEE 1/2 INCH RIGHT ANGLED DRILL

Strong, powerful drill raises mainsails with ease. Works well...NO more grinding

Re: ELECTRIC WINCH WINDER MILWAUKEE RIGHT ANGLED DRILL

My father bought it new for raising the main on his sailboat. Not sure of the date but I will look to see if there is a production number on the drill.

No production date but drill serial # is A73BD10460284 and battery serial number is C71ED111100124S
Last week I used the drill to raise my 500 sq foot fully battened cruising mainsail which it did without difficulty.

A bit more jnfo about the drill and battery ...

The Milwaukee 28 volt variable speed reversing angle drill (catalog #0721) is the most powerful battery operated drill on the market. It produces 1081 inch pounds of torque, is a very heavy duty drill and will run a long time on a charge. It comes with the new M28 Red Lithium digital monitored battery system (not the old V28 battery). One advantage of using an angle drill over a regular drill or winch handle is that the length of the lever arm is increased so you have less strain. The typical length of a winch handle is 8 or 10 inches. The Milwaukee angle drill is 16+ inches. This cuts the force that you need to apply nearly in half to achieve the same pull from your

Re: ELECTRIC WINCH WINDER MILWAUKEE RIGHT ANGLED DRILL

I bought one of these units last year. Best money spent on any one item for the boat. Works great. Mine brought from "The Cranker", The Cranker - a S.S. Sailboat Winch Drill Adapter Bit This on line retailer now seems to only sell the winch adapter which replaces the drill chuck and a weather protecting cover for the drill unit. He suggests purchasing your own Milwaukee drill or alternative 1/2 right angle.

FYI, last week, I hauled rigger to top of mast, he weighed approx. 175 lbs., not an issue, no stopping. Grinds really fast and well as strong. Really beneficial in furling jibs. Works great with genoa as well.
