Re: Chelsea Ship Bell Clock

Very, very nice clock!

What is the year? What is engraved on the rear? What is under the rear cover, is that normally removed as part of clock operation?

Re: Chelsea Ship Bell Clock

Here is an example of a certificate from the factory showing the history of a Chelsea clock.

Is there a certificate for this clock?

Re: Chelsea Ship Bell Clock

Considering that the same clock is still being made and sold, for less than $2900 (see/click on Chelsea Ship's Bell Clock), I think you're a bit over the market, No?

Re: Chelsea Ship Bell Clock

Thank you yes it is a very beautiful clock. The serial number is engraved on the back and on the inside of that cover. Unless you know anything about these clocks you never want to go into the back of them. The clock dial is 3 3/4 inches and this one has the extra day keeper on it which they only made a few. This is called The Pilot Ship Clock. it was made in 1981 and a store in Seattle washington sold it.

Chelsea Ship Bell Clock

We are selling our Chelsea Ships Bell Clock. This is a Limited Edition Pilots Clock from 1981. The identification number is 828472 engraved on the back side of the clock and on the inside. The clock dial meassures 3 3/4 inches and is very hard to find this size u will fing the 5 or 6 inch dial. We have taken the clock and had it looked at by a clock store and was told very rare and in excellent condition and value of $4000-5000 and in 2-3 years it would have a value of $6000-7500. Everything works great it chimes when its suppose to and keeps time.(My dogs bark every time the chimes ring) I have been in contact with:

Re: Chelsea Ship Bell Clock

Seems a shame to sell something which is due to nearly double in value in 2 to 3 years. I'd hold onto it if I were you.

Good advice. I dont know of ANY investment with that kind of appreciation. Unless you really need the cash now I would hang on to it.
