Brownies third lung

Brownies third lung surface supplied air compressor, 110 Volt AC model. Was carried aboard our catamaran for last few years and used very infrequently as I could clean my hull with simple snorkel and mask while breath holding for the deep parts. Used mostly for zinc and prop replacement. Older unit but very little time on it. Runs great and includes 25’ hose as well as regulator. Low amp draw and was even run off our inverter on a few occasions, mostly to inflate our kayaks, not for diving. Great to have aboard for such things. We upgraded to a two Diver model as my wife and I wish to be able to dive together. She says she will help clean the boat as well. I will report back on how that turns out. I am not holding my breath. Pun intended.

Anyhow, this baby is In search of a new home and could be yours for $500 USD. Located in Seattle WA and willing to ship at buyers expense but it prob won’t be cheap as it is bulky due to the large yellow fiberglass case.

Safe Journeys,
~Jake

I'm interested, but worried about the freight. Do you have a size and weight of the package?

Brownie's now uses a different compressor than the one here (which is a Thomas 1020, BTW, and over $700 new) but assuming the compressors are not wildly different in weight, that hookah comes in at 62 lbs.

Re: Brownies third lung

Greetings all,

The exterior dimensions of the case are 26”x18”x16”. I was going to convert that to metric for our overseas friends but I am a product of the public school system of the United States and as such, mathematics challenges me.

My trusty bathroom scale, which I think is close to accurate due to comparison with my readings at the local gym, puts the weight of the case and it’s contents, compressor/regulator/hose, at 40 pounds. See above as to why I can’t get this figure in any other than imperial increments. I do know it is significantly lighter than the Thomas two diver version I just upgraded to. It takes two men and small boy to hoist it. But the larger CFM of the two diver model feeds my Divator full face masks nicely which then allows the beauty of wireless communications with my fellow diver and/or topside. I guess everything is a trade off.

Hope that helps.

Safe Journeys,
~Jake

Re: Brownies third lung

Greetings all once again,

I am happy to report this comoressor has found itself in a new home. I am sure it will be happier in its new fancy digs aboard a Beneteau in Southern California rather than the drizzly rainy climate of the Pacific Northwest.

Thanks to all the interested parties and as always,
Safe Journeys,
~Jake
