Asymmetrical Spinnaker

Looking to buy a Asymmetrical (Cruising) Spinnaker. Luff measurements need to be between 41’ -44’. I would prefer .75oz, but will look at other weights as well. Conidition is important. I am located in St Augustins, Fl.,and will drive up to 100 to pick up the right sail. If not in that vicinity, I will pay for shipping.👍
Thanks,
Will

Re: Asymmetrical Spinnaker

Hullmack,
Thanks for the tip, but a new sail isn’t in my budget. I’m really looking for a good, clean used sail that someone is no longer in need of.

We have a friend in STA that is selling his perfect condition asym. I’ll have him chime in on the size...

Thanks again. Your friend contacted me, but his asymmetrical is just a bit too small. Still looking👍

I have a 0.75 oz asym in VG condition: Luff 48.4; Leech 43.7; Foot 25.3; Mid Girth 23.9. Bright yellow with a blue star in center. Send me a PM with your email address and I'll send some pics.
Thanks,
Alan

Alan,
What a beautiful sail! A great deal for somebody, unfortunately the max luff I can go with is no more than 44’-45’. Thanks for sharing the info. Happy Thanksgiving. 🦃

Re: Asymmetrical Spinnaker

Will. Did you considered just shortening the luff?

Re: Asymmetrical Spinnaker

Alan,
Interesting thought, but I don’t have enough knowledge to know how much that would affect sail shape, as well the costs involved in making those modifications.

Just give the measurements to a local sailmaker and he will be able to tell you effect and cost.

Alan,
I spoke with a couple different sailmakers today and the consensus was that although the sail shape would only suffer a little, but that the labor involved for the modifications doesn’t justify the costs involved. Thank you again for your offer.
Cheers,
Will
