In doing so he became the first American and third person to accomplish the feat while shattering the time record. BTW. I never bothered to authenticate the Morgan signature. Can't image someone going thru the trouble of faking a signature of a person that is unknown outside his hometown and the sailing community. I picked the book up at a used book sale some years ago. It looks like it was maybe a gift to someone.
