Re: 22 Inch Luke feathering prop

The helical twist to the blades give true pitch, making the propeller more efficient under power than a flat bladed feathering prop and because of the twist, is incredibly effective in reverse.

Bore diameter might be helpful. Also (although I don't know for certain), I don't get the impression that Luke props are adjustable. If that is the case then a buyer would want to know the pitch and rotation direction.

Not easily user/field adjustable, but Pitch can be increased easily by the factory; by just grinding the stop tabs carefully. Obviously this is permanent and non-reversible; but is very effective if needed. I’ve done this on my Luke (which I have yet to install! Old prop seems to be stuck on the shaft and I haven’t properly tried to remove it yet. This winter...).

I will say I’m very impressed with the prop as a piece of craftsmanship. Well designed and beautifully made.

That's less adjustable and more "modifiable" IMHO. Seems like you'd better guess right the first time.

Re: 22 Inch Luke feathering prop

Yes indeed. It’s limited- not advertised as adjustable at all- but it was interesting to learn that there was some modification possible. (steepening/increasing pitch only).

Re: 22 Inch Luke feathering prop

Hi all,

Some more info on the prop that has come to light after disassembly and reassembly with fresh grease. It is definitely in perfect condition - shows no signs of wear whatsoever.

The pitch is 14", it is RH rotation. The bore is tapered 1.5" to 1.0625"

And........ Surprise! it is actually 23" in diameter!
