[SOLD] 2 Working EPIRBs

For sale are 2 working EPIRBs. One is a McMurdo Precision 406/GPS and the other is an ACR RLB-35 406/GPS. Both of the units are due for a battery replacement, but self-test as fully functioning. Each beacon is currently NOAA registered to me, so the purchaser will have no issue with a transfer.

The McMurdo beacon comes with a bulkhead mount to secure it, while the ACR unit was previously stored in a ditch bag.

Looking to sell the pair together for $200, plus $15 for US shipping. Local DC area pickup is available.

The places I looked at for my own EPIRB (nearly identical to one of these) charged around $425US for a battery replacement/refurb. Not much less than the cost of a new unit. Mine may be for sale soon, too, if anyone is interested.

I'd be very interested in hearing about a place that does them for $200.

Edit: Just checked their web site. $425 for my McMurdo, same model as the OP.

All of the above commentary is accurate in some sense... It is pricey to have a professional replace the batteries, but it's possible to do it yourself on the cheap with individual cells. I've sold a few others to folks that have done this.
