1981 Sabre 28 MKII Near Chicago

1981 Sabre 28 MKII with wheel steering and Volvo MD7A diesel. The Casco, Maine-built Sabre 28 was inducted into the American Sailboat Hall of Fame in 2003 and is generally considered one of the best constructed boats in its class.

The boat has always been in fresh water and is in good overall condition except for some rot in the port bulkhead that likely will require the entire bulkhead to be replaced. The survey that was conducted when I purchased the boat last fall placed the fair market value at $15,000. I had intended fix the boat up before the season started, but work has gotten in the way of that so I thought I'd give someone else a shot.

The boat is currently stored indoors with the mast unstepped in a yard north of Chicago. Many more pictures and a copy of the survey are available upon request.

Asking $5,500.
