Where do you hang a hammock?
I was wondering where people hang a hammock and how they hang it on a yacht. I purchased a great two person Hammock, that should hold me.

Re: Where do you hang a hammock?
I hang mine under the boom. Furled main sail provides shade.

Re: Where do you hang a hammock?
Hang it somewhere over a soft and flat area, so that when you fall out of it nothing is badly damaged!

Re: Where do you hang a hammock?
I can't say I've used mine much, once in fact as I was only given it for Christmas 2014 and havnt used it much since. But I have a ketch so I hand it between the main and mizzen. I honestly couldn't work out where to put it on a sloop.

Re: Where do you hang a hammock?
Depends on several factors; either below the cross beam (between the hulls and just above the water), between the uprights of the goal posts aft where the solar panels provide good shade, between the forestay and the mast or take one to the beach and find a couple of tree's.

Re: Where do you hang a hammock?
I put a pad eye on the mast and tie off the front around my furled jib.....works great.

Re: Where do you hang a hammock?
I hang mine in the main cabin and sleep in it all the time, it eliminates problems with sweating.

I spent 5 years in the navy sleeping in one. Just make sure you sling it Fore & Aft, and get some mic sticks for it and a comfortable mattress. You will also need strong kidneys!!!
