"I feel the best way to ensure Americans’ freedom is to tighten restrictions on that freedom in any way possible. Only through wiretaps, illegal searches and seizures, unfettered government intrusion, a controlled media and a complete crackdown on free speech can we ensure the liberties of all people.” ~ Attorney General John Ashcroft

You caught me. No, it was actually a clip from SNL starring John McCain, mocking Ashcroft.
Arizona Senator John McCain hosted Saturday Night Live., and in one scene he played the character of then Attorney General John Ashcroft, and joked about wanting to keep Americans in jail for months at a time for no reason.
It turns out that the Military Commissions Act, which McCain voted for and was signed recently, would allow the government to do just that.

It's that "and is right" part that's hard to come by. Because you don't get it from jacks of all trades. They're only right on a good day, with things that happen to fit their experience. And since their experience is limited, well, good days don't happen that often. I'd rather have someone who can look at a level and tell when it's wrong. Someone who knows when a line is wearing because he feels it when it runs through his hands. Without looking. Someone who knows what's wrong with the engine by the color of the oil or the sound of the gears.
Someone with skill.

Well, unless you're talking about a crew of four specialists in addition to yourself, there, then you've just defined a Jack of All Trades.
Which you said you didn't want.
So which is it?

Truer words were never spoken. Unfortunately, as I get older - I'm beginning to believe it is imbeciles who really mean it.
A truly saddening thought

A guru was once asked his opinion about the human soul and his response was:
"The only souls I know is the fish I eat, and the sole of my feet."

A few of my favorites -
"People demand freedom of speech as a compensation for freedom of thought which they seldom use." Soren Kierkg
The first rule of a gunfight is to bring a gun. The second rule it to bring all your friends with guns.
Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everyone you meet.
In the end, if you fall flat on your face in failure it is because you took one more step forward trying. If you fall on your butt it's because you gave up trying. Always try. A turtle never gets anywhere unless he sticks his neck out.
