I believe that if life gives you lemons, you should make lemonade... And try to find somebody whose life has given them vodka, and have a party.
~ Ron White

Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.
~ Mark Twain

A day without sunshine is like, you know, ... night.
~ Steve Martin

First the doctor told me the good news: I was going to have a disease named after me.

I never said most of the things I said.
~ Yogi Berra

An idea isn't responsible for the people who believe in it.
~ Don Marquis

Prejudice is a great time saver. You can form opinions without having to get the facts.
~ E. B. White

It takes considerable knowledge just to realize the extent of your own ignorance.
~ Thomas Sowell

Tragedy is when I cut my finger. Comedy is when you fall into an open sewer and die.
~ Mel Brooks

But I forget who said?
I would never die for my beliefs, because I might be wrong.
I know I could Google it, but that would deny someone the pleasure of telling me.

Re: What is Your Favorite Quote?

Almost related to cruising:

"Wherever you go, there you are" (Buckaroo Banzai, but likely waaay back)

"The point of the journey is not to arrive" (Rush, Prime Mover)

I actually use the rush one a lot on the boat if we're "going somewhere" - it's the answer to "how long is this going to take?"

In the same vein -

Somebody told him it couldn't be done:
With a smile he went right to it.
He tackled the thing that couldn't be done -
And couldn't do it.

A woman knows the face of the man she loves as a sailor knows the open sea.

Which means that she just thinks she knows it, but there's more going on below the surface than she realizes?
