Just let it go. If you decide to make a thing of it the whole tone of this easygoing thread will change.

Besides, it's a favourite quote thread, hardly an area for a serious sailing topic.
Churchill was known for his incisive wit and wisdom at a time when an opinion could be expressed without cowering under the lash of political correctness. The days when a spade was still a spade.

Speaking as someone who was raised with Islam... he sang a different tune when he wanted Muslim soldiers to fight in Europe..
But what else can one expect from a fat twat..

Thanks for the timely reminder Vic, but it wont change the thread, it will close.
Lets get back to favourite quotes and drop the religious and political crap.
Here's one from Coops

Mr. Clemens was once asked whether he feared death. He said that he did not, in view of the fact that he had been dead for billions and billions of years before he was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it.

Our books have gotten 5 star reviews on Amazon. Several readers have written "I never thought I would go on a circumnavigation, but when I read these books, I was right there in the cockpit with Vinni and Carsten"

Re: What is Your Favorite Quote?

Boatie just reminded me of another old favourite, "Adversity makes strange bedfellows" but I couldn't find who said it.

Maybe a couple of sailors in the king's navy caught in an unfortunate moment...?

Ooh, that's a good one.

One boating one I heard:
When you sail the whole world sails with you.
But you sand, you sand alone.
