Re: Underwater Photography

Hi, PrairieChicken,

Strongly recommend you get yourself a stinger suit. Mine makes me unafraid of most jellies--special exceptions for irukandjis and box jellies, though. ;-)

Re: Underwater Photography

Ann, is your stinger suit neoprene, or a nylon type body suit? I went looking for such a suit last year, but was told the body suits wouldn't protect against jellies or urchin spines. I could understand the urchin spines, but was really looking for protection against the jellies. I ended up with another neoprene shorty suit which I don't really need in the Med. We don't have the truly deadly jellies in our part of the Med (as far as I know), but those little green/brown fellows can really ruin your day.

Enjoyed your clear fish shots with hull in background!

These do appear to be saddled sea bream. The little brown fish are brown chromis. Their cousins the blue chromis are almost iridescent.

Enjoy!

Speaking of jellies, ran across a bed of mangrove upside-down jellyfish the other day (Abacos).

I'm so jealous. You really got some fantastic shots. Where were you?

Re: Underwater Photography

Nice enough shots, but I'm definitely not jealous. I wouldn't be in the water if those were around!

Reach, I love your macro shots. I know how challenging it is to take these.
I bet you are smiling being back in the water.

The water is getting cold here. Only very brief anchor checking here now. I can't complain too much though, I had such fun with photography this year .

Looking forward to everyones photos to give me my fix over winter.
